This privacy notice tells you what to expect when ACF Car Finance (ACF) collects personal information.

‘You’, ‘your’ and ‘yours’ means you, the person(s) accessing this website and the party on whose behalf you are doing so.
‘We’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ means ACF Car Finance Limited.
‘TFC group’ and ‘group’ means The Funding Corporation Limited and Group Companies (including ACF Car Finance Limited, Cygnet Financial Services Limited, The Funding Corporation (Benton) Limited, County Leasing & Finance Limited, The Funding Corporation (1) Limited, The Funding Corporation (2) Limited, Specialist Motor Finance Limited and The Funding Corporation (4) Limited).
This privacy notice applies to information we collect about:

- people who use our services as a credit broker
- job applicants and our current and former employees
When someone visits acfcarfinance.co.uk we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting either of our websites.
What we do when you apply
The information you supply to us will be passed to one or more of our preferred lenders who may share this with credit reference agencies. Your information may be used in a number of ways, for example: to make lending decisions, for marketing, for audit and debt collection.
Our lenders will search, link and record information about you and any other joint applicant at the credit reference agencies. You must have the other applicant’s agreement to disclose their information for this purpose.
If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies to prevent fraud and money laundering. Please contact us if you want to receive details explaining how the information held by fraud prevention agencies may be used.
Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information.
The proposed lender and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when:
- Checking details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities
- Managing credit and credit related accounts or facilities
- Recovering debt
- Checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance
- Checking details of job applicants and employees
The proposed lender and other organisations may access and use, from other countries, the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies.
- ACF will only collect information that it believes to be relevant and required to understand your financial needs and to conduct ACF’s business
- ACF may pass your information to other companies within TFC group or agents, as permitted by law
- ACF will not disclose your information to any external organisation unless we have your consent or are required to do so by law
- ACF may be required, from time to time, to disclose customer information to Governmental or judicial bodies or agencies or ACF’s regulators but we will only do so under proper authority
Encryption means that the information you provide cannot be read or understood by others, so you can rest assured that it is safe and secure.

Telephone calls may be monitored or recorded for security and quality control.
Contacting us by email
Any email sent to us, including any attachments, may be monitored and used by us for reasons of security and for monitoring compliance with internal procedures and policy. Email monitoring or blocking software may also be used.
How we will contact you about our products
When you complete an application with us, we will ask if you would like us to contact you by post, telephone, email and SMS about products of ours and those of selected third parties within TFC group which may be of interest to you. We will also ask if you would also like us to share your details with other companies so they may contact you with information about their products and services by post, telephone, email and SMS. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time by writing to us at the address shown at the bottom of this notice; by telephone; or, by email – we may need to ask you for additional information (such as your full name and your address) and this will be used purely to enable us to find and delete your details.
Access to personal information
Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. If we do hold information about you we will:
- give you a description of it;
- tell you why we are holding it;
- tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
- let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.
Please contact us to make a request for any personal information we may hold about you. A fee will be payable.
If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone.
If we do hold information about you, you can ask us to correct any mistakes by contacting our Customer Services Department.

ACF operates channels, pages and accounts on some social media sites to inform, assist and engage with customers. Unless stated otherwise, these are intended for UK customers. We monitor and record comments and posts made on these channels about ACF so that we can improve our services.
ACF is not responsible for any information posted on those sites other than information we have posted ourselves. We do not endorse the social media sites themselves, or any information posted on them by third parties or other users.
When you engage with ACF via social media your personal data may be stored on that social media site’s servers, which are outside the control of ACF and may be in the US or elsewhere outside the EU. Any information posted to such sites may be accessed and read by the general public. It is not an appropriate forum to discuss customers’ products or financial arrangements. ACF will not ask you to share personal, account or security information via social media sites, and you should not post such information on those channels.
ACF regularly updates and monitors our social media accounts and welcomes feedback and ideas submitted via these channels. ACF will look to join the conversation whenever possible, however cannot guarantee to read or reply to all messages sent to official ACF social media accounts.
